Social Media -- Is it for You??? Think Again!!!

With so much being written and said about social media success and its potential, marketers today almost feel compelled to make their brand’s/product’s presence be felt on these mediums. Stories similar to that of social networking site Facebook  overtaking email as the web’s most popular communications tool ( March 2009 source: Neilsen Global Faces and Network Places) are sure to attract marketers.

The medium has great potential and many big brands have made it its most focused way of marketing communication and many are trying to...
But before you plan out to strategize your place through the medium, it is important to realise the differences between traditional medium and this.

Its important to answer following questions before you give it a shot..
1. Does your brand fit in/will it survive/ will it add value?

2. Why Social Media/ What's the objective/ is there any objective/is it different than any other medium?

Social media doesn’t always work in the same pattern as traditional media.. Sources used for other mediums - TVC, print ad might not work in the same level as Social media. There are exceptions but might not always be true.
3. Measurable Success Parameters??
It is important to define success parameters to measure the success of the medium. These parameters should be measurable. “User engagement” has just become cliche in this medium. Measuring the same is necessary - No. of comments, No. of tweets, No. of forwarded links.. one should look beyond mere no. of users or viewers but rather like and dislike of the medium should be measured based on the after visiting actions..
4. Regular Updates??
Social media is a place where people wont like to see the same thing again. To engage the user, its important to constantly updates. The measurable parameters should be used to understand how well the medium was able to impact its viewers and based on the receiving feedback and comments, improvement should be made.
5. Uniqueness of the Ad?

6. Are you prepared for Criticism/ Side effects - if you are some where wrong in the above mentioned points!!!

Crazy As it Gets..

I don't find any ambiguity in.. when people say.. Age is no Bar...

It doesn't define your            Perception...
It doesn't limit your              Imagination...
It doesn't decide your           Destination...

Been there done that...

Every-time.. Every-where  I start with a new point and extend it to make a ray.. at some point it becomes a line!!!
Not being disheartened by it.. I choose another point.. another dot.. and begin it all from start!!!
I am excited... i am rejuvenated.. i am revitalized.. i am redesigning..
It's a new Beginning!!!!

When a confuse mind.. decides to give some Random Thought..
Trust me ... It's neva food for Thought...

Give it a Glance, a glare..
Be Careful with your pick...

Coz.. they always say..

Read it at your OWN RISK!!!!
